December 2nd
Today we will take at Canada's immigrants and where they come from. We will use data from Canada Citizenship and Immigration to fill out these instructions for today's map.
December 3rd

December 4th
Today we will investigate various non-government organisations and how they help in Canada and worldwide. Here is a link to the research document for Period 2 and Period 3.
December 7th: Homework due WEDNESDAY
You will interview a family member or friend who immigrated to Canada. Ask questions and include:
- Services that helped them immigrate
- Their background/why did they choose Canada?
- Problems
- Successes
- Anything else you want to add
Remember that immigration can be a very personal and emotional story. People may not wish to answer all of your questions and that is OK!

Today we will investigate the challenges that new immigrants face when they arrive in Canada and ways to help them. You will create your own service designed to help immigrants (instructions here) and research organisations in the city to see what is already being done.
December 9th
We will look at data relating to immigration - make sure you have your interview completed.

Weekly Question Unit 4, Week 3: In what way does increasing immigration affect both urban growth and the quality of life for neighbourhoods?

We will use data from the 2011 census for Yarmouth, Calgary, Little Bay Islands, Windsor, and Kirkland Lake. You will also need to research some more information about these towns from other web sites.

- How much education do you need to get these jobs?
- Is the town growing or shrinking?
- Describe the town's physical location - what is it close to?
